Basic Function of Position

Secretary - Jakarta


Basic Function of Position
- The job holder serves as secretary to the Transportation Officer and administrative assistant for the Shipment Supervisor/ transportation section; Time and Attendance keeper for Shipping and Travel Staff. Reviews and verifies invoices from shipping contractors. Maintain and updates Transportation web page. Act as back up secretary to supervisory GSO.

Cultural Affairs Assistant - Jakarta


Basic Function of Position
- Under the direction of the @america Program Manager, and in coordination with the Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer for @america, the incumbents assist in creating and overseeing programs at @america – a high tech, 21st century public diplomacy outreach venue that targets Indonesian aged 15-30 and engages them in a new way. This project has high visibility both inside and outside the Embassy. The Program Assistants will work very closely with the @america Embassy team and the operations contractor to create dynamic, high-impact, relevant programming. They act as a back-up for other members of the @america Unit as required.

Computer Programmer - Jakarta


Basic Function of Position
- The incumbent functions as a computer programmer in creating new and developing and updating available computer programs to suit the changing needs of the office and to prepare current event report for legislative staff in Washington.

Development Assistance Specialist - Jakarta


Basic Function of Position
- The job holder reports to the Resident Country Director, one of two U.S. direct-hire positions at post. The basic purpose of this position is to provide technical advice in designated sectors, and guidance to host government officials in implementing Compact projects to ensure successful completion of the program. Duties and responsibilities focus on working with the host country partners, both governmental and non-governmental, and providing technical support in assigned sector(s) to develop, implement and assess the effects of Compact programs to determine impact in reducing poverty.


Qualifications Required

- Masters degree in Economics, Social and Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources Management or related fields is required.
- Must have seven years of demonstrated progressively responsible professional level experience in the fields of social and/ or environmental science, natural resources, health sciences, or governance-related programs. Must have five years of demonstrated professional experience in project implementation work, social research and communication.
- Level 4 (Fluent) speaking/ reading/ writing in English and Bahasa Indonesia are required. Language proficiency will be tested. At this level, the job holder is required to possess the ability to translate bahasa Indonesia into precise and correct English, and English into precise and correct bahasa Indonesia.
- Must have expert working knowledge of host country applicable laws, by-laws, legislation and decrees as well as policies pertaining to renewable energy, environmental protection, and/ or social protection. Basic Function of Position
- The position serves as US Embassy Jakarta’s Voucher Examiner. Her/his responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reviewing and auditing vouchers and other miscellaneous claims for payments, assures that the claims submitted are in settlement of legitimate obligations incurred in compliance with established regulations, and makes and responds to inquiries from employees/vendors regarding payments. S/He also maintains organized and up to date payment files. In absence of other personnel, this position may need to assist in providing adequate coverage. The job holder works under the direct supervision of the Supervisory Voucher Examiner.

Visa Clerk


Basic Function of Position
- The job holder is responsible for ensuring that the ingress and egress of all visitors to the consular section occurs in an orderly manner in accordance with existing procedures, in close coordination with the consular section and local security. The job holder will also be available to answer applicant questions, assist with biometrics collection, and perform pre-intake checks of visa forms and photos.
